It's a tie!

This movie was my favorite out of all the Harry Potter movies so far. It was so well done! I wanted to see it again even as we were driving away from the theater. They still had to leave quite a bit out from the books, but they actually made up for that quite well. The special effects have come quite a long way since the first movie.

The Advance Gaurd were cool although I would have liked to see more of Tonks. Grimmauld Place was awesome. I loved seeing it the way they did it. The Extendable Ear and Crookshanks were very funny. I also loved the tapestry room and the way it hung all the way around the room like it did. Every scene between Harry and Sirius was so well done. I wonder how many people in the theaters who haven't read the book caught the "well done James" in the battle scene.
I think the scene with Sirius going through the veil and right after was my favorite scene simply because it was so well done. I leaned over to my husband as Sirius went through the veil and said that if it was described that way in the book, we probably wouldn't have had so many Sirius-may-still-be-alive theories floating around. I'm so glad they kept with Remus holding Harry back, that was just incredible and heart-wrenching.

They didn't explain the whole prophecy thing too well in my opinion. They didn't hear the whole prophecy and they didn't explain that it was Trelawny that made the prophecy in the first place. I don't even think Neville heard it like he was supposed to. The scene itself was cool though. I kinda missed seeing some of the other rooms.

The H/G shipper that I am missed the whole scene at Grimmauld place with Ginny's outburst right after Harry says there's no one else that would understand what he's been through. I loved that part in the book because Harry finally really starts noticing Ginny. I did enjoy the jealous looks she shot at Cho. Ginny almost looked like "I told you so" when Umbridge broke through the ROR. I hate how they keep downplaying Ginny in the movies. She's a bigger character than they're making her. Although when she did her Reducto spells, I about cheered in the theater every time. She really is an awesome witch and no one seems to have noticed yet.

I still miss Dobby in the movies, but I guess he isn't as big a character as he is in the books. Kreacher was exceptionally creepy though. That part was done well. The Thestrals in my opinion were almost sweet. I loved the scene with Harry and Luna in the Forbidden Forest. Luna was also played very well!

The twins were brilliant as always. My husband and I joked that our twins would bug me with Apparation when they got older too if they could. Their escape was amazing too.

Umbridge was particularly awful which kept with her character quite well. I thoroughly disliked her and was very happy at the end when she was chased/carried off. The scene with the whole DA using the Blood Quills isn't something I remember from the book. I'm rereading it now, but haven't gotten that far yet. It did work well with the changes they made in the story though. The whole Neville finding the ROR and Cho being the tattler didn't really bother me as much as I expected it to.

I liked watching the developing relationship with Hermione and Ron. Watching him "protect" her from Grawp was so cute! They really are getting so cute together.
Grawp was done really well too. He was very cute for a giant. :)

I loved every scene with the Order in it. The last battles were awesome! And I barely contained myself when Sirius decked Lucius just like when Hermione decked Draco. lol Harry possessed by Voldemort was very well done. Those eyes and the memories flashing, OMG. I missed a little with the Snape memory flashback though. I would have really liked to see Lily get all up in James' face! :)

All in all, there were things I missed but things I also really enjoyed too. The movie was well put together and well played out. It seemed to explain a few things a little better for people who may not have read the book yet.

I could go on and on about this movie pointing out every detail, but I think I'll leave it at this for now. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you simply MUST. I give it 9/10 just because of the little parts I missed being put into the movie.

She's at it again...

Well, the lady in Gwinnett County (not far from me) is again trying to ban the Harry Potter books from the Gwinnett County schools. She has been denied something like 7 times at this point. She says she has "skimmed" the books and feels that they promote witchcraft and belief in the occult. Honestly, if she had actually read the books, I'm sure she'd understand that the "witchcraft" is actually more of a secondary plot aside from friendship, overcoming odds, and the fight between good and evil. I am a Christian and I've read, and re-read, the books and I don't feel that these books promote witchcraft or magic any more than books like the Chronicles of Narnia (a Christian series), or J.R.R. Tolkien. Why doesn't she think those other books promote these things too?

She's not the first to attack the Harry Potter series either. The thing that gets me is I don't hear about anyone questioning any other series' that are quite similar. When I was younger I read things like A Wrinkle in Time and it's sequals, the Chronicles of Narnia books, and quite a few others with "magic" in them. I can tell you that not one of them made me question whether or not any of those things were real or if my belief in God was wrong. Why? Because I knew it was just a fictional story and I was taught by my parents what was real and what was not. I read those books and still believe in God. J.K. Rowling has never claimed the things she puts in her books to be real and she's never said anything in her books to agree or disagree with any religion. She's even said in different interviews that it's just stories that she thought of many years ago and wanted to write them down so other people could enjoy them too. She never thought they'd become as popular as they did, it just happened.

If this lady doesn't want her kids reading these books because of what she believes is in them, that's her perogative. But I don't think that should affect the rest of the kids in the county. I don't think those books are evil or any more or less real than any of the other books out there for young adult readers. What's next; Eragon?

I'm not saying any of this just because I like the books. I just think if she wanted to go after books that promote "witchcraft" or "magic" she should go after all of them and not focus on just one series. I'm not judging her as a person either. I don't know her from Eve. I'm just speaking out because I think she AND the media are making this into a bigger deal than it really needs to be, call me weird. LOL

Feeling creative...

(Disclaimer: These poems are mine and not yours. If any of you want to use them for ANY reason, you must credit me on it! If you don't, you'll quickly learn the meaning of "Hell hath no fury than that of a woman scorned!")

Ok now that that little business is out of the way; here's some more of my poetry. Some of them may sound a little cheesy, at least to me they do. But keep in mind, I wrote most of my stuff in my teen years and teens are normally cheesy. I figured I'd post some of it anyway just because it's just sitting in a book on a shelf right now collecting dust so may as well let people read some of it. Please comment people. Enjoy!

The Heavens

The heavens never change.
Whether stormy or starry, sunny or cloudy.
They're always there bonding us together
With friends and loved ones.
They protect from the dangers beyond.
Yet can get angry and turn on us at times.
They can give comfort or fright.
Maybe even a memory or two.
You can sleep under them and know
That they'll be there when you wake.
They can give warmth or cold; rain and sleet.
But no matter what they put us through,
May it be good or bad,
We know they'll always be there and always
Be beautiful.

The Storm

Lightning strikes, thunder crashes.
Rain pours down through the flashes.
Everyone scurries to their homes.
In the wind, all trees groan.
Swaying back a forth so tall.
One so old, it just might fall.
Winds howl, waters rise.
The precipitation causes great demise.
The winds slow, the waters recede.
Although not liked, the rain we need.
Animals and birds come out from below.
Everyone goes back to the way they were before.
But they know it'll happen again
During the next storm.

The Dream

You lying next to me in the night.
Your steady breathing, love's silhouette
In the moonlight.
You look so peaceful and calm.
I run my fingers through your hair.
It feels good against my palm.
I want it to stay this way forever.
I want us always to be together.
You stir so softly; you are mine.
I can't believe you're here you are divine.
You love me and I feel the same.
Our wild hearts can't be tamed.
You stir again; you're so perfect I could scream.
Then I woke with a start.
It was all just a wonderful dream.

What is love?
Love is the feeling you get
When you're with someone and know
That you're bonded with them forever.
Love is knowing that no matter what
Life may put you through
You'll always have each other.
Love is knowing that no matter
How many miles are put between you
There will always be someone waiting
For your return.

Love is being able to just be in someone's arms
And still be happy.
Love is being able to forget all
Of the little differences and see the true person within.
Love is forgiving and forgetting.
Love is trusting even in times of doubt.
Love does not get angered easily
Even when times are tough.
Love is knowing that you will always be together
Without it having to be said.
Love is forever.

Do you?

Do you ever wonder what it could have been like?
Would it have been good or bad?
Do you ever wonder why we parted?
Do you think of me when I'm not around?
Do you ever wonder what changed your mind?
Do you regret what we had together?
Did it scare you?
Am I special to you anymore?
Am I so easy to replace?
Did I turn you away from me?
Am I not attractive anymore?
Am I not good enough?
Am I not old enough; mature enough?
Do my plans for the future scare you?
I thought you wanted the same thing.
Were you just trying to make me feel wanted?
Are you happier now?
Are you glad you left me?
Was I that easy to leave?
You say you'll always love me, are you sure?
Will you forget what we had, what we were?
Will you forget me?
Do you still care?
Do you ever stop and think about what I'm going through?
Do I ever pass through your thoughts during the day or night?
Do you ever wish for the days of happier times?
Do you ever wonder what we could have been?
Do you still love me the way you used to say?
Do you still want me the way you did before?
Do you still fantasize about what you could do?
Do you still feel the passion you felt with me before?
Do you still want to make me feel special?
Do you still feel the same as when you confessed your true feelings when I was weak and dependent?
Do you still want to take care of me?
Do you still feel the same as when you would hold me close all night?
Do you still feel the same as when you didn't want anything but to spend the whole day with me?
Do you still think about the fun times we spent alone?
Do you remember the parties, museums, trips, and rendezvous we shared together
Do you know the torture you're putting me through?
Do you know the sleepless nights?
Do you toss and turn all night?
Do you know the sorrow and desperation I feel right now?
Do you stare at my letters, cards, and poems and remember our plans for the future?
Do you dream and remember how it used to be?
Do you know what it feels like to have your heart ripped from your chest and shattered to a million pieces?
Do you know what it feels like to have a broken heart?
To feel the constant aching in your chest for someone you can't have?
Someone whose turned you away for brighter horizons?
Do you know how hard it was to let you go on trips knowing what you might do to my heart, to me?
Do you know I would have lied, cheated, and stolen to make you happy?
Do you realize I did do those things for you?
Do you have any idea how it feels?
Do you know what it feels like to lay next someone you love and feel completely alone?
To feel you can't turn and touch them without being turned away?
Do you know what it feels like to put your heart and soul into a dream you thought you shared only to have it brutally torn from you not once, but twice?
Do you even care?
Do you realize now how you made me feel on top of the world, only to be pushed from it?
Do you know what it's like to put your complete trust in someone only to have it broken?
Do you know the agony you put through?
Do you know how much my foolish, broken heart still loves you after everything you've done to it?
Do you know the power you have over it?
Do you realize the people I've alienated for you?
People who still don't know what happened?
Do you know what I hide from the rest of the world?
Do you know...well, do you?

Wow, can you feel the love in that one? lol Ironically it was written 3 DAYS before I met my husband. When they say God works in mysterious ways, they weren't kidding. Oh and FYI, Springbreeze was my penname when I was writing before. I rarely use it anymore though. :) Now push the little comment button and tell me what you thought. :)

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone here has a wonderful, happy Harry New Year!!!! May everyone's wishes, dreams, and resolutions come true.

Let's make a sign....

You know, popularity can sometimes be a little overrated. Ever since our twins were born in August, it now takes us at least 3 times as long to do anything when we're out in public. Not because taking care of two babies is so much harder, because honestly it's not. But the attention you get from EVERYONE is just amusing. I get the same questions asked of me so many times while I'm out, I'm about to make up a sign that can be changed depending on how old/big they are.

"Yes, they are twins. Two boys. Yes, we now have four boys. Yes, we have our hands full. This one's Ethan and this one's Ryan. He was 5 lbs, 9 oz and he was 3 lbs 14 oz. They're 4 months. Yes, we were surprised. Yes, they're identical. Yes, Ethan's always been bigger. Blah, blah. Etc, etc."

Jonathan and I were having fun the other day trying to come up with funny things to say when we're stopped some of the 100 times per outing. Things like:

"Are they twins?"

1. "We don't know, we don't have the test results back yet."

2. "Nope, we just borrowed this one for the attention twins get."

3. "Nope, he's older, just really little for his age."

4. "No they just look alike. Here's your sign."

"Are they boys or girls?"

1. "Gee, I hope so!"

2. "Yes."

3. "I don't know, how do you tell?"

4. "I don't know, do I turn them over and look under their tails?"

"You have FOUR boys?"

1. "No, we have three, we're not certain on the last one."

2. counting on fingers, concentrating hard "...carry the one...."

"How do you do it?"

1. "Magic!"

2. "Our invisible nanny helps out a lot."

3. "Practice, practice, practice."

4. "Would you like to come over and try sometime? I could use a break."

5. "Coffee, lots and lots of coffee."

I mean, really, you would think twins are some kind of rare phenomenon or something. Now, if I was walking around pushing a stroller that had 3 or more babies in it, sure gawk all you want; but two isn't that uncommon anymore. lol Now, I'm not being bitter about being stopped or anything. I've actually met quite a few other mothers of twins in my area that have offered advice or hand me downs from their twins. I just get amused by the number of people that are surprised to see a mother with twins out in public. Especially when I grocery shopping and I have the twins in the stroller and Logan in the cart and I'm actually getting it done efficiently. Like we all stay at home and keep them hidden like some kind of weird deformity or something. They aren't hunchbacks, they're just two kids born at the same time from the same parents. I have a feeling it's just going to get more and more interesting as time goes on.

Life moves pretty fast, so grab a helmet and hold on tight!

Some things I wrote....

This is just very few of the poems I've written. But I thought I'd post them on here just for fun. Mainly because I know Carolyn likes to show others my blog so here's some more to share Carolyn. I love you! I still need to write a new one for the twins, but that'll come in time. My muse is still sleep deprived. Enjoy!

My Dear Nicholas

How wonderful it was to feel you growing inside me each day.
How beautiful it was to my ears to hear your first cry.
How proud I was to watch you sit up and smile at me for the first time.
How excited I was the first time you crawled and took a cautious step.
How happy I was to hear your first words.
How bittersweet it is when making a new friend is better than being in my arms.
How nice it feels for you to let me hold you when you are sick.
How great it is to see you growing bigger and stronger every day.
And how wonderful it will be to see you grow from the fine boy you are now into the fine man I know you'll someday be.

Love, Mom

I miss your laugh,
And the way you woke me with a song.
I miss your smile,
And the way you taught me right from wrong.
I miss the times we'd spend together,
And how you showed me you cared.
But I see a lot of those things in me,
So I feel that you're right there.
Thank you for the gifts you've given that remind me of you.
Every time I look at myself, I also see you.
It reminds me of how much you loved me,
And how much I loved you too.

Your Loving Daughter,

My Little Logan

I'm so glad that God blessed me with you.
It's wonderful to have another little boy to love.
I love to see your personality develop more each day.
I love to watch your face light up when you smile at me.
I feel wonderful when I see you interact with your older brother.
I can't wait to see you grow up and become a man I know I can be proud of.
I'm so proud already just seeing you grow and learn as quickly as you do.
I'm so happy God chose me to be your mother.
You mean the world to me and I don't know what I'd do without you and Nicholas.
I love watching you sleep so peacefully in your crib.
I love playing with you in the wee hours when you wake to eat.
I hope for you that you will be a happy boy and a happier man.
I'm looking forward to all of the firsts that you will
go through.
I have been blessed with two wonderful little boys and I'm thankful everyday for it.
I love you my little Logan and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.

Love, Mommy

Thank you (for my husband, Jonathan)

Thank you for the love you show me everyday.
Thank you for the little boys you've given me.
Thank you for working so hard to provide for us.
Thank you for showing me how wonderful my life can be.
Thank you for being the wonderful father that you are.
Thank you for helping me when you are home.
Thank you for being with me when I need you.
Thank you for loving your family so much that you'd do anything for us.
Thank you for just being you.

I'll post more of my poems on here the more comfortable I get with LJ. One of my New Year's resolutions is to write more. Well, and get better at drawing, but baby steps here. Writing I've done more of and done longer than anything else. Happy New Year everyone!
